The 2008 NMA awards have been announced.

This year's selections are once again stellar performers; all of whom uphold the quality standards that bring prestige to the industry.

For 2007 and hereafter, we will no longer select just one winning band and runner-ups. Instead  we will select a minimum of five (and maximum of ten) winning acts that will share the award. It is nearly impossible to separate the very top cover bands and we've come to the conclusion after many years that this is often unfair. We've also always tried to select a new winner to spotlight. In the world of corporate entertainment there is generally a small number of acts countrywide who are the first choice for event planners on their biggest events. This doesn't change much year after year and it can take a new act a quite a while to break into this elite bunch. With this in mind, you will see fewer changes in the winners circle of the NMA.

To clarify what America's Best Dance Band is; here is what it is not:

We no longer consider "Big Bands" or tribute bands. We do not consider acts that have more than one Billboard chart hit. ABDB focuses on variety dance/cover bands.
